ANDREA

Ever since I was 12, I wanted to work with children. Every time that I would carry my nice, my nephew or a friend’s baby in my arms I fill complete I knew by then that children are the future of our world.

 During my high school year I decided to work with kids as a babysitter. I learned so many things from them that day by day I got interested in learning more. I decided to join De Anza College to get more educated and prepared to be able to teach them good values. A year ago a got my AA in child development from De Anza college. I am CPR and First Aid Certified.

 I worked at Kinder Care facility in Mountain View before joining Galapaguitos Daycare. My experience there was very fuel filling, because I work with kids from 6 months to 4 year. I was recognized by the parents and the center for my exceptional work with kids with numerous times.

 Now I am very happy to enjoy my mother’s Day Care, because of her knowledge and love for children have given me the joy to learn about them and be part of this field.

LORENA

I am the eldest of 6 siblings, who go from 25 to 12 years, so since my early years smaller kids were always surrounded me. I also have 6 cousins that I grew up with and help look after.

While I was attending high school I worked as baby sitters for friends, neighbors and family. I look after kids from all ages and needs, raging from babies to teenagers and even special needs kids.  They were all full of challenges, experiences and fulfilling lessons.

While attending college my passion for kids continue and I got a job as an ESL teacher for toddlers, kids, teenagers and adults. I specially enjoy teaching toddlers and kids. It is a very rewarding job to be able to share you knowledge with the little ones, because you need to find creative and innovative ways to connect to them.

In 2008 my mother proposed my sister and I to team up to start our own home based daycare. I didn’t have to think twice

Since then I have been updating my knowledge and preparing myself in the art of child care.

Mary  

I am mature mother with over 30 years of experience. I had my first child when I was 16 and I was fortunate to able be fully involved in raising my three kids, Lorena 31, Andrea 25 and Andres 24.  I am very pleased now that my two daughters are adults and share my passion of being surrounded my angels which how I see kids. I was also involved in raising my niece and nephews, three out of which currently live with me.

I have also being working as a full time nanny for last 10 years. Thanks to this career I have met great families and kids from different cultures, who have taught me different, creative and interest techniques to raise kids. Among the families I have worked with there have been Latino, Indian and American.

I also had the opportunity to work at a daycare, which prepare and lead me to start my own daycare, and offer quality childcare services by providing kids with love and discipline.

I have trained and prepared myself in this field by constantly taking classes to update my knowledge and learn about the lasted education and safety techniques. I am CPR and First Aid Certified, and some of the courses I have taken are Nutrition and Safety for infants and toddler, Languages teaching techniques for English and Spanish, and Eco Friendly Childcare.  I also have a clean driving and police record
